Art and Design offer a unique opportunity within the school environment to nurture inner calm. If a pupil can embrace the focus required, they will often find our department provides a break from the more commonplace 'Q&A' and interactive, energetic activities found elsewhere in school.
The confidence that can be built through creativity cannot be underestimated and is vital to our well-being.
Additionally, dexterity and the ability to assess and respond to situations which require quality control in hand skills is something which is perhaps being lost elsewhere in our modern world. We like to think that in the Art and Design Department, we nurture and grow these skills.
