SCHOOL DRESS CODE

Broxburn Academy has a dress code in line with West Lothian Council's policy. The details of our dress code are below and we ask that you support the school in sending your child to school dressed appropriately.

  • Black blazer
  • White or black  shirt and school tie White blouse and school tie
  • Black V Neck Jersey Black V Neck Jersey or Cardigan
  • Black trousers Black trousers or black skirt
  • Black footwear
  • S5 and S6 wear braided blazers

The wearing of denims, leggings without a skirt, or tracksuit trousers/joggers will not be permitted.

Ties can be purchased from the school office or online from Logoxpress.

No pupil will be denied the opportunity to wear school dress because of financial circumstances at home. If there are any problems in this area please let the Pupil Support Team know.

All football colours eg shirts, scarves or jackets are not appropriate and must not be worn at any time.

 

For physical education the following kit is required:

  • Training shoes
  • Shorts or track suit trousers
  • PE Top (No football Strips)
  • Games socks
  • Swimming trunks or One-piece swimsuit
  • Good size bath towel - easily identifiable

It is recommended that all kit must be marked with identification mark or owner's name. Pupils without the above mentioned kit will be unable to take part fully in the Physical Education course.

The education authority operates a scheme of provision to ensure that a pupil is sufficiently and suitably clad to take full advantage of the education provided. Families in receipt of Income Support or Family Credit will automatically qualify for such a scheme. Other cases will be determined according to the personal circumstances of the family.

Parents who wish to apply for the scheme should complete an application form that is available from Broxburn Academy.
