Active Schools aim to provide more and higher quality opportunities for children to participate in school sport and to increase capacity through the recruitment of volunteers who deliver the activity sessions.

WEST LOTHIAN SCHOOLS SPORTS LEAGUE
Active schools provide a sports league whereby all high schools are offered the opportunity to compete in a wide variety of sports against their peers at various schools across the year. Last years league table and this years calendar are on the noticeboard across from the games hall. All age groups are offered the chance to compete in sports such as Rugby, Handball, Basketball, Cross country, Swimming, Netball Table Tennis and Badminton with points being allocated according to performance in each competition. There are around 40 competitions throughout the year with the schools league table being updated quarterly. If any young person is interested in competing please contact any of the P.E staff or the Active Schools coordinator in the P.E Base.
EXTRA CURRICULAR CLUBS AT BROXBURN ACADEMY
There are a wide range of extra-curricular clubs on offer throughout the year for all age groups such as Basketball, Rugby, Dance, Gymnastics and Football. All the information is on the P.E noticeboard outside the Games hall such as age ranges, day and time of sessions and location. If any young people have any suggestions for sports clubs they would like to see please contact the Active Schools coordinator in the first instance.
