Welcome from the Headteacher
At Broxburn Academy we aim to nurture ambition and creativity in all our pupils.
It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the Broxburn Academy website where you will find lots of useful information about the life of our school.
Our core values are inclusion, integrity, and respect and these inform our policies and practice.
We care about everyone in our school community and value the positive relationships that we have with our pupils, parents, carers, and other key partners. This creates a culture and ethos in which every child feels safe, valued, and respected.
We have high expectations of our young people and of ourselves and provide every opportunity for our young people to thrive and succeed. We listen to the voices of young people, and they are present in all aspects of our work, and we take every opportunity to celebrate and share their successes.
Each young person is an individual, and as such has different needs; we aim to support those needs through the provision of a wide variety of learning experiences. Committed to lifelong learning we strive to ensure that our teaching and learning is absolute best it can be.
Our school curriculum is ambitious, innovative, inclusive, and equitable so our young people leave with the skills, attributes and achievements that prepare them to lead a fulfilling life beyond school.
We enjoy close links with our associated primary schools: Broxburn PS, Pumpherston & Uphall Station PS, Kirkhill PS, and Uphall PS and collaborate to improve outcomes for all our families.
We welcome and encourage opportunities for parents and carers to be engaged and actively involved in the work of the school and in supporting their children with their learning.
Our active Parent Council is an invaluable support for our school.
We hope you enjoy your visit to our website and please get in touch if we can provide you with any further information.
